Idoru

Idoru was quite frankly brilliant, cementing Gibson as a sneaky favourite of mine… another author I somehow missed on my entertainment fuelled shuttle through literature. I’m still not sure which character I’m supposed to be like, Laney? The Otaku? Rez?! I can’t see it myself…

Pattern Recognition Covers

All Tomorrow’s Parties which follows up on Idoru was thoroughly exciting, I liked Laney more in this because he was crippled physically from his 5-SB caused condition (large portions of that being his physical deprivation while he consumes vital data) which made him more interesting in his vulnerability, I mean he was vulnerable in Idoru but he was at least stable in mind and physically fit in so much as he could be. Much later on we see an impressive mental side to his character which strikes a contrast against his physical state during the book.

Rating: 5/5

Which brings me to what I’m currently reading… Pattern Recognition, which has shown promise so far and managed to drag me away from City of Heroes for a few hours! :)
